Buddha Rocks

So I am sitting in a tiny dressing room so full of models that it's about to burst like Kim Kardashian's ass in a rubber suit. I need some zen. Can you really blame me? My roommate introduced me to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda about a year ago and ever since I have used this image to calm me down when I feel like I'm going to have a Britney Spears circa January 2008 moment. There is something about this gold-plated rock and the edge of a cliff that makes me feel at one with the universe. AHHMMM

Scents for Cents

I may not have 20/20 vision, but if I could see as well as I can smell I would have X-ray vision. So trust me, these geometric candles from IKEA* are awesome for making any room smell fresh and not too sweet. And better yet, unlike Jo Malone's aromatic muses ( I love you Jo) they are fit for anyone's budget, even a poor college kid like me. So knock your nose out, it will thank you later.

* IKEA = heaven

Hamsa Hand

I discovered this Hamsa bracelet at Splash (a wonderful little store in St. Louis) a few months ago and thought it would be the perfect addition to my collection of Eastern charms. This dainty bracelet has a bit of a history and there's nothing I love more than a piece of jewelry with a story. In Islamic and Jewish tradition these Hamsa charms are meant to ward off the evil eye. They come in every metal from gold to bronze, bejeweled or plain, but I think this one has just enough gold detail and right mix of color to make it a modern take on a timeless charm.
